The Town of Forest is nestled in the winding rivers and hills region of southwestern Wisconsin known as the non-glacial Driftless Region. It is bordered by the townships of Hillsboro, Union, and Whitestown and rests in Vernon County. There are thirty-six square miles of land in Forest with an elevation of 984 ft.  In Forest’s northwest corner, you will find a portion of the beautiful Wildcat Mountain State Park. At the 2022 census, our population was 818. The unincorporated communities of DillyMount Tabor, and Valley are located here.

Surrounding communities truly embrace the “small town Wisconsin” lifestyle perfect for visiting and living. From Wildcat Mountain State Park, trout fishing, canoeing on the Kickapoo and Baraboo rivers, motorcycling routes, Amish settlements, and Kickapoo Valley Reserve provide unparalleled recreational opportunities with something for everyone.
